The one with the best karaoke session (so far)

Ever since this Facebook craze I've noticed I haven't been posting a lot of posts. Or could it be due to fasting month or has my life really hit a wall where nothing really happens. Whatever the reason, last Saturday's karaoke has been a lift out of the gloom.
Had another karaoke session with the usual entourage after our break fast at Hard Rock. And may I say that the session was one of our best performances and we really out did ourselves. Not sure how we are going to top that but I think we will find a way.
This time around besides our usual numbers, there was quite a number of new songs which added variety to the session. We even went Sean Kingston for a while. And yes we also tried another attempt at Mika's Grace Kelly. The highlight of the event was when all 7 of us got up and sang and jumping around and having fun. Bet if my office colleagues joined they will be traumatized times 7. Dealing with one of me was traumatizing enough. Imagine if they had to deal with 7.
Anyways, you can check my Facebook to see the pictures. Really saves me the time burning the pictures to a CD or emailing them.
I wonder what we will do for an encore?

The one with Futsal Ramadhan

Well finally played my first futsal game since the fasting month started. Might I add it was well needed since I've been itching to run around the court like a headless chicken.
Played on Friday and Saturday night. Both late kickoffs and held after terawih. For Friday's gig I invited both Tuesday and Saturday groups as I was unsure on the numbers. And Saturday's game was with the futsal Wednesday group.
I had a break fast appointment with my clients at PJ Hilton before heading off for my 10.00pm game. The food was so-so and I don't eat as much as I use too. Maybe I had the game in mind so I was mindful of what I was eating. Found out some of my clients do play futsal or football and have expressed interest in a friendly after Eid. Hopefully something can be arranged.
As for the game, think I still need to dust off the rust. My passing was totall off and also my shooting failed me. Somehow it all worked out better in my head. Still manage a couple of lucky goals and lucky assists, but overall a fun game. Saturday's game started with a bang for me. Scored the first goal on a left foot blockbuster. But as the game wore on, my passing, dribbling, control and shooting failed me again.
As for the rest of my weekend, it was the same Madden-Facebook-sleep routine combo. Started off with a new franchise in Madden after leading the Giants to a four-peat. Now in charge of the Titans.
And tomorrow is another Monday which will drain me EMP.

The one with the latest headlines

Been a tough week again for me. Just glad tomorrow is Friday and hopefully Futsal Ramadhan kicks off tomorrow night as well. I am still drained EMP, and in need of a break soon. But my confirmation period ends in another two months. However, my boss has given me an opportunity for a break by allowing me to take leave during the Eid season. I usually don't take leaves during Eid since I prefer to save my leaves for other occasions.
Anyways, currently the headlines has been dominated by the child in bag story. Which some claim has connections to a missing child case. Earlier in the week the parents came to identify the body and they say it wasn't their child. However latest reports as of today show DNA tests prove it was their child. I for one as at time of writing am still not sure who the kid is. But the fact the the child was a victim of some sick sex maniac really makes me want to go on a lightsaber + force choke + force lightning rage against these sexual predators especially little kids. The world is no longer safe for kids and soon parents will be living in an age of paranoia since these beings disguised as humans somehow are still at large. We talk about wanting to be a great nation, but if the safety of its population especially the next-generation is not taken care of, the dream of greatness will might as well be shelved. Anyways, I hope that the child is safe somewhere, but if tests do prove otherwise it is another sad loss to the nation. It was mention the child is a diabetic, and without the regular prescribed dose of insulin, I fear for the child's safety for the past month she has been missing. This is not the first case as many cases has been reported the past few years. It saddens me that the grief the parents fo through would be too much too much to bear. We can only talk and place blame on the situation. But in the end action is needed and i fear what we are doing is not enough.
Guess that's my first attempt on a serious issue where my flair can't be used. Now for something that also came to a shock but somehow it was expected. The 'resignation' of Jose Mourinho, Chelsea's manager. I am not a Chelski fan, but have too admit I am going to miss the colour The Special One has brought to the Premiership. He has been a breath of fresh air with his antics and style. Which if you have notice is part of his modus operandi. He wants to shift the media attention to him so his players can just go out there and play football. It did work especially in his first two seasons, but after Roman Abromovich's expensive divorce, he has more time for the club and suddenly wants in on first team affairs by bringing in his friends. So between the billionaire owner and the special one, someone had to go and it isn't going to be the man who invested his millions. Well, Jose, our favourite Portugeezer, all the best in your future and hopefully you'll find a club where you have full control of first team affairs.
Then again, we can't have things the way we want it. As long as we understand that, hopefully we can deal with it.

The one where I'm EMP drained

Well, its been 5 days of fast. Went through the first weekend by either playing Madden (managed a Superbowl three-peat) or messing around with Facebook (hooked on it as of late) or catching up on my beauty sleep. How very productive of me.
Anyways, bet you all wondering what I mean by EMP is. In this case its NOT ElectroMagnetic Pulse. Currently its how I feel nowadays. Emotionally, Mentally and Physically drained. I really believe I am in need of a break, probably somewhere with sun, sand, sea and surf. And how am I EMP drained (and its not because of the fasting month).
Well emotionally I keep it short, just drained and unable to feel for someone.
Mentally due to work, as a lot is going on, and somehow people are gunning. Even had a client who threaten to call the Tan Sri and complain. Well he can go ahead for all I care, I know what I was doing. If he who comes from some fancy big Malaysian organization who rejects my friends proposal and thinks they are the boss and claims to know everything wants to whine about it go ahead. If you claim to be where you are you should at least know how I do things. Found out about the unhappy client through my colleague when his wife told my colleague. Damn, had to tell your wife to do that and get her to complain to my colleague. Whiner.
Physically due to all the mental and emotional stress beginning to take its toll on me. Body getting weak, and getting sick easily (but I believe its due to the air-conditioning at my building). Maybe its also due to futsal burn-out. Just not having much fun as of late. Just moments of creative genius but only in one play spurts. Well, taking a futsal break during fast, but we still play at nights, after terawih. First game for fasting month this Friday, so I had a weeks rest to find my feel for the game. Also tired from work, as there are times I feel I'm going nowhere in my career. Just hanging around to pay the bills and live the flamboyant lifestyle when I can.
Alrighty then, back to Facebook and then try to get some sleep.

The one where puasa begins

Good morning. Typing this post after sahur. Usually don't sleep after sahur. Have this fear of oversleeping and being late for work. So in time I either surf or play games or in this case this year, post blogs.
At least I have company this morning on Gtalk. And Farrish congrats on your new toy. Hope you put it to good use.
Damn, suddenly no idea what to write. Guess selamat berpuasa to all then,
Final note, I've finally jumped on the Facebook bandwagon.

The one with the farewell dinner, Izani's wedding, karaoke and bowling

Long title for this post as plenty of material this time around. Plenty to post, hopefully I'm still in the groove. As for the events, it all began on Thursday night till Saturday afternoon before my futsal Saturday session.
The farewell dinner was for Hazeriq and Melvin. Hazeriq suddenly resign on Wednesday and Melvin has completed his one month internship. As for Hazeriq's resignation, it came as a sudden surprise to everyone, but I guess he has his reasons. But for me, he rushed his decision. And he didn't consult or talk to anyone about wanting to leave the building. Anyways, all the best in your future plans.
My colleagues decided to hold a farewell for both Hazeriq and Melvin at Delicious One Utama, since both of them live within the One Utama radius. Attendees included my colleagues Marlini, Su Farn, Huzaila and Maz. We were later joined by Mr Yee and his wife Elsy. Food was good but the waitress was something else. Sweet girl and very good at her job. Working part time as she is still studying, her shifts are on Thursday and Friday. Sounds like an idea for buka puasa one Thursday or Friday.
As for Friday, double gig for me. First attend my colleague Izani's wedding at Merak Kayangan. After that, a karaoke session. One last show before the fasting month. But as I recall, we did buka puasa karaoke last year. The rockers include Shahreza, Farrish-Ida, Shah-Faizah and newbie Nadya (hopefully she was not traumatized by our performance). Well last night a lot of new songs performed including Linkin Park's What I've Done, Justin Timberlake's SexyBack and our new favourite which will be included in the "must-sing-during-karaoke-session-list" Mika's Grace Kelly. We all had fun singing, jumping and dancing to the tune. As well try to imitate his voice.
However, last nights session took an ugly twist. Lets just say there were issues and 4 of the 7 were missing most of the session. But those who remained, tried to make the best of it. Felt if we had the whole group, would have been more fun. But at least its good to know that things have worked out. For me, despite my efforts to keep the place rocking, its not the same without everyone. Hopefully our next vocal exercise session will turn out differently.
I entered a bowling tournament under my bank's sports club. Well my scores impress anyone, but I joined for fun. But bowling organized by PPKM is a whole lot fun, or maybe because I'm still relatively unknown to AM. As for my scores I hit 107-149-131. Didn't do any training prior to the tourney, so my first game was "finding-rthym-game". Began to pick up in second frame, but when it came to the third frame, the cross-lane team resorted to time wasting tactics by going MIA. Their delays really put me of my groove. And the door gift was a t-shirt. A Scouser-red t-shirt. Red really doesn't work for me.
Still made an appearance for futsal Saturday, even though I was half-an-hour late, but promised the guys I'll come as numbers were not promising. Still manage to produce one moment of inspirational genius-like magic. With the fasting month coming up, I guess my futsal sessions will take a break and be held as per need-to-play basis and subject to availability of players.
One last note, somehow I made an appearance in Off The Edge September issue. Check it out if you have time. Hehe.

The one with the post without any direction and theme aka random ramblings

Merdeka has come and gone. Now we all return to our relatively normal boring daily routine (well me anyways). Nothing much has happen after the Merdeka karaoke. Kept pretty much to myself indoors playing Madden and playing futsal with the Friday and Saturday groups.
Well futsal Friday had a new female addition to the team. Didn't catch a name (don't know why I always keep forgetting to get a name). Anyways she a girlfriend of one of the college students that join the group. All I can say is I'm impressed on what she can do. She's small in stature as well as speedy Gonzalez like. She's mastered the basics as well as can perfect one-two moves, hit a shot on target and the one thing I was most impressed is that she chipped the ball over 2 or 3 players to pass to an open man. Nows there something you don't see everyday. Anyways due to the large number I played in goal most of the time since I wanted to maximize playing time. She had three shots on target and I manage to keep two of them out. Her goal I conceded was expertly taken, one-on-one (my futsal groups play no defence), I was expecting her to go to my far post (as that's what I would do) but the took the shot to my near post and went past my right shoulder. Great goal and even I applauded the goal.
Futsal Saturday was normal. A lazy game as I think the lazy holiday got to everyone. As for futsal Tuesday, we had a large number and I spent most of the game in defence. But what I really don't understand why everyone thinks they are Cristiano Ronaldo. They feel they can beat and take on players when there isn't much playing room and you have 2 or 3 open teammates screaming for the ball. They didn't generate much offence and my attempts to build up play was foiled by my surprising failure to deliver my thread-through-the-needle like passes. At least I did my part by playing some defence including a goal line clearance.
As for work, I've been really slacking as of late. My main job functions I still perform at a high level. But its the small administrative details is where I've been slacking. Will spare the details, but I know I should do better.
Will be participating in a bowling tournament this weekend. Not much of a bowler, but just join for fun. Lets see how it goes.
