The one with a great show

I believe the me who karaokes with a reckless abandon is back. Participated in a performance for the ages. One which had me sweating till my shirt soaked.
Pulled off a variety of genres. Pulled off a series of dance moves. I do hope everyone enjoyed the show. But I'm not a one-man show. The whole group made it fun. And with some newcomers, we showed them our brand of entertainment. Proved our versatility with rock and pop numbers especially boyband numbers. Since we had to dance along to it.
Wondered how to play futsal after that, but still had a great game. Wide open game, free-flowing futsal with a whole lot of goals.
Also managed to catch He's Just Not That Into You. An enjoyable movie for me. Some lessons learnt and I should really put them to practice.
So how was your weekend?

The one with the return of the rockgod

A lot of things have been going on lately. Mostly things that result a moody-dark-self. It has effected a lot on how I enjoy the things I enjoy doing.
My futsal performances are pretty much crap. True I still score and odd goal here and there, I do make so nice assists, but I commit of errors that outweigh the good. My karaoke performances have been totally sub-par. And this time it isn't because the pressure of entertaining. This is due to loss of mojo. Haven't been performing at my lofty standards for the last few sessions. Good thing the rest of the entourage managed to keep the audience entertained.
Oh well, manage to return to my old self last weekend. Needed two sessions in one day to pull it off. The first was to get rocking. Pulled of the JT and Bon Jovi numbers. Then later that night, an impromptu decision might I add, the dance moves were back. If I could act, I'll be a triple threat. Even managed to pull off the three Bon Jovi's numbers which will kill you, back-to-back-to-back. Did the Bad Medicine + Living On A Prayer + You Give Love A Bad Name.
Felt great to be back in the groove. To all who were there, I hope you were entertained.

The one with the fun christmas

Merry Christmas to all. Had great fun today. Even though it left me tired, breathless and with no voice to work tomorrow.
First of all, went to Kaleon's housewarming bash in Kemuning Utama. Well these events are suppose to be simple. But the highlight of the event was his 'fan boys' room. A room dedicated for his comics and action figures. He has a massive collection of them and even set themes for them. Among my favourites was his Batman and Ironman themes. His 'batcave' even had the t-rex and joker card. All that was missing from his batcave was the giant coin. Also on display in the room was his Star Wars helmets. Among them was Darth Vader, Boba Fett, Jango Fett and various stormtrooper helmets. I spent quite some time in that room, trying to take it all in. I would have love to take photos and share with my fellow readers, but I didn't out of respect to the owner.
Next up was Christmas lunch at Mark's (finally). Since he changed his nation of employment we have been missing his mum's Christmas cooking. But before I had the chance to eat, I had to somehow 'earn' my lunch. Well, Mark owns a PS3, and he recently purchased the game Singstar. Simple explanation for the game, its karaoke PS3 style. Started the gig off with the Abba collection and then the compilation cds. Oh well, did my best to entertain even though I wasn't much of the high scorers. Never karaoked with a score before. Had great fun with the game, and was still at it after all the guests left. Good thing he didn't have Guitar Hero or Rock Band, or not we will still be at it.
A fun filled day and
I really need to get me a PS3.

The one with two karaoke sessions in one day

Managed to pull of another landmark for myself. Think once I pulled off more sessions than footballers play in a week. This time was two in the same day.
First session was during lunch with my office colleagues. It was an impromptu session. So when I came in I thought of performing at a minimal and voice conserving level. Knowing me, I still rocked out as usual. In my mind I was wondering how to rock later that night.
The night session was the main event for the entourage. One last session before the fasting month kicks off. Then again, as if we wouldn't be going then. I believe they do have buka puasa packages as they did last year. So attendees include the newly weds Farrish-Ida, Shah-Faizah, Amry-Mimi, Elina, Suraya and yours truly. We were missing one member Shahreza. I believe it was due to the fact that it was his mum's birthday and we probably were not invited for this year. Refer to last year's merdeka post here.
The session had a different twist in it. First we were given a room right in front of the waiting area. So we were visible to those waiting outside. But for us, audience or not, we will still rock on. Also, Amryl-Mimi bought along their new hobby to the fore, photography. They had a nice camera too, Nikon D40 (if I'm not mistaken). I had a hand in taking some shots. Felt like Peter Parker for once. Amryl also bought along his camcorder which surprisingly enough no one knew about it except me. I do hope we get to see the pictures on Facebook soon. As for the videos, I do hope we get to see the final cut.
As for the karaoke session, well lets just say we had a great time. Probably had more fun than going to Avril's concert which was held at the Merdeka Stadium. We sang almost every genre of music. I even had my hand at rapping due to the absence of Shahreza, the house Timbaland. I had to pull of both Justin and T.I. for the song My Love. Also we now have a new song to add to the list of 'must sing' which is Here In My Home.
After another sounding performance, I have no voice.

The one with the long overdue karaoke

Finally managed to pull off another rock concert. With the usual suspects minus the newly weds who are on their honeymoon. For us within the Klang Valley radius, we decided to have a session, simply due to the fact everyone wanted it.
I think it's been around a month and a half since we last rocked. So last nights session was mainly to get it out of our system. All-out rocking. As well as the boyband and bubblegum-pop princess's songs. We even went through a Black Eyed Peas medley.
However, not a lot of new songs. Only one which we all really enjoyed (we sang it twice) and one I believe all karaoke-ers should sing. The song Malaysian Artists For Unity's Here In My Home.
Also, encore performance scheduled for next week.

The one with the suprise birthday karaoke

Another long week. Another tiring week. Another week where I want to go on killing rampage. As the Fraternity code says "kill one, save a thousand".
Well as the first paragraph suggests, I watched Wanted last night with the entourage. May I say it was an action packed film, with hints of the Matrix. I believe those who read the comics would be disappointed as a lot has been changed in order to make it Hollywood. Among them was the costumes, as the characters were all portrayed in daily attire. Would have love to see Angelina Jolie in the cat-suit like costume her character dons in the comics. Also the movie really defies the law of physics. Unless someone can prove to me 'curving the bullet' is possible.
After the movie, it was suggested we head to the teh tarik place for post-movie drinks. Upon arriving, we were all "invited" to karaoke by a friend was was already there. Opening the door "SURPRISE!!!" by everyone. Even my birthday cup-cakes were lit. Well my birthday isn't until Sunday, but they wanted to do an early bash. So to Farrish-Ida, Shah-Faizah, Shahreza and Suraya thank you very much. I didn't see that one coming. Well planned.
As for the karaoke, well it was us being us. Rocking the night (or is that morning) away.

The one with the karaoke

I'm beginning to run out superlatives for karaoke-based titles. So just figure I'll leave it as plain karaoke title. And yes, no more fuel-related posts.
So a dinner-karaoke-birthday bash for Suraya. Which was with her sisters, close friends, Farrish-Ida and somehow I was dragged along. We had dinner at the restaurant in town, Bubba Gump. Well you figure with the hype and all the food would be good. For me, it totally sucked! Didn't really enjoy the food. Or maybe I was just more excited about karaoke I didn't really bother about food.
Next up, another rocking out session. With this being a totally new group one would figure I will try to behave. Haha, sadly that did not happen and with Farrish leading the way, we both rocked out the crowd to a karaoke performance for the ages. We practically killed ourselves early by starting the night with two Bon Jovi numbers (You Give Love A Bad Name and Born To Be My Baby) and a Backstreet Boys number (Drowning). Knowing us, we still kept going. And really killed off the night with a more and more hit performances. With so many hits I totally forgot what we sang. And with my rocking it out, I was sweating till my shirt was wet. Mental note to self, bring small towel for next karaoke.
Besides the rockstars, the others got in on the act. We had songs which requires group participation where everyone had to get up and dance and sing. That was well choreographed. There were some photos taken, not sure if it will make Facebook, but we should have put in on video. We could be youtube sensations overnight.
Now for me to drink lots of water and get back my voice.

The one with a lot to cramp in one post

Well a lot to write here. Not sure if I can remember a lot from the past week. Especially the recently long (and welcome) weekend. And as I write this my whole body is aching in pain with a capital P and A and I and N. Think I should add !!! for good measure.
Well last Saturday had a bowling training session with my teammates for next this Saturday's tourney. The session was to get the feel of the game after not playing in ages. And my game was totally off. Managed a measly 100 average after 3 games. There were moments of sheer brilliance, but like I said, moments.
Also last Saturday had an impromptu karaoke with Farrish. He needed to kill time while waiting for the fiancee who was stuck at work. So we totally rocked the house. We even did a Micheal Jackson medley but couldn't pull off Billie Jean, David Cook style as the music wouldn't allow it. Also rocked out a whole lot of rock tunes so our voice wasn't there after the session.
After picking up Farrish's fiancee Ida, we went for drinks in Subang. Somehow we talked about our childhood and how strict our parents were.
Sunday night had a corporate dinner. Our client EON had their charity dinner and long-service award ceremony. The only great thing from the dinner was Noryn Aziz. Totally fell in love again. She has a great voice (unlike me) but like me we can pull off a variety of tunes. My colleagues and guest were all introduced to Noryn Aziz and were blown away.
Right now to why my whole body is in pain. Recently I enrolled to a fitness centre in Subang Parade. Felt it was high time I did something before I balloon into the Marshmallow Man. My personal trainer pointed out that my heart rate and blood pressure is good. Sadly that cannot be said about my BMI. I 'scored' a 27. And my weight has shot up to 95 kilos. He also put me through some weight exercises. My weakness was pretty much obvious. I'm weak, and really have trouble with weight exercises which require pushing. However the pulling exercises was a breeze for me. And also my abs are damn weak.
After the 2 day (Sunday and Monday) weight training my arms and chest are in severe pain. I hope that means its working. I can't even lift my arms higher than my shoulder. Which results in some difficulty when I pray.
Also a fun note, my iPod has been 'jailbreaked'. Had the assistance of my colleagues brother. So now I can do more fun things with my iPod.
Lastly, the reason I'm in a flow (blogging wise) is due to the fact that futsal Tuesday was canceled due to insufficient numbers. In the end I went home early and hopefully will get to rest my aching body.

The one with the karaoke versatility

Finally had our long overdue karaoke session. It seems like some time since the entourage last rocked the scene. Nevertheless the session was well needed. Even though not everyone was able to attend, but the usual mainstays were there.
I believe last nights session was a display of our versatility. We manage to pull off a variety of music genres. We went opera by singing Phantom of the Opera. We also went hip hop and rap by rapping to Crank That by Soulja Boy. Also had a boy band medley (Backstreet Boys), rock medley (Bon Jovi) which nearly killed our voices and also a R&B medley (Boyz to Men). Its amazing that the group can pull off all genres of music. The only thing now is that we lack an identity. Guess you can say we can sing anything for any occasion.
Also did my rendition of Lionel Ritchie's Hello, David Cook style.
And for the last song of the night, we went Estranged by singing Itu Kamu.

The one with the five

Just decided to go with a weird title with no relation to what I'm posting. Well maybe there is, well maybe I will just list down five random points or events or news from the past few days.
One, word out for my injured friend Shahrizan. Found out he has a torn ligament and broken bone chips (hope I got that right, if the Mrs is reading please re-confirm). The injury was way much worse than expected. Now I've lost 2 teammates to injury. I fear an exodus will follow in the wake of this and the futsal session players will be depleted. Even if we try to be careful and not do a 'Martin Taylor' there will still be one or two over-zealous robust jokers who just want to inflict pain on someone. Nowadays I try to play smart instead of relying on skills and talent. Pace myself and let the game flow with precise ball placement.
Two, had an impromptu karaoke session last weekend with Farrish and Shahreza. I believe these unplanned sessions are a whole lot fun. And it all began while we were listening to Backstreet Boys...I mean Bon Jovi in Farrish's car. We were listening to an old CD from Farrish's days in college. From there we just went with the flow to rock the house. Its safe to say (or not) that my karaoke groove is back.
Three, I really need to lose weight. That seems to be the first comment I get every time I meet some friends I haven't met in ages. Just told them I spend my money on food since I have no one to spend/pamper/spoil my money with. Changing my dietary habits by cutting out rice from my diet. But also need to figure out alternative exercise habits since futsal hasn't really help.
Four, word up to my friend Shahreza. He recently join the Telekom rowing team. They will be competing in some water festival event at the end of the month. Make the entourage proud dude.
Five, its reported the New York governor Eliot Spitzer spent $80,000 on sex. The question is, who's money was it? Money from his own pocket or the New Yorkers.
Damn, that was harder than I thought.

The one where I walked out on a karaoke session

I bet the title kinda gave you a shock. Very unlikely of me to commit such an offence, in karaoke standards anyways. I still came back to the session in the end, but I didn't perform in my usual manner after that.
So where shall I begin. Tonight we were celebrating a colleagues confirmation status in our desk. So a karaoke session was in order. I myself was pretty much amped and ready to rock as always. I started off in my usual manner and didn't want to disappoint. After 45 minutes, a colleague made a statement which really offended me. Not sure if it was intentional or not. First of all, as you all know I can't sing. I'm more of the entertainer and showmanship is my specialty. So I figure my 'noise' and 'uncoordinated movements' offended someone. After that I gently put the mic on the table, grabbed my phone, wallet and ipod and went off to chill. Ended up at some kopitiam but with lousy wi-fi access.
I admit I have offended people with my karaoke theatrics. Some were even traumatized and didn't want to go for karaoke if I was one of the 'performers'. I know people will have a barrel of laughs watching me 'karaoke'. That’s one form of entertainment I provide. And I'm not afraid to make a fool of myself (I've been doing that since I was a kid).
To me karaoke is having fun with your friends. But for certain people, singing in the right manner, with rhythm and proper pitching and whatever crap is involved is the way to go. And they do that sitting down in a well mannered behavior. I think they are probably training to be a singer or audition for some talent show.
Anyways, when I came back, I did things their way. You take out the comical element of me, you'll get one boring karaoke session. I didn't sing as much, I cancelled all my songs that were still on the play list, because my song selections are way too different. I only sang backup to some songs and I did that sitting down. Yes, the hyperactive me karaoke sitting down. And I was no longer fun. And after that the whole session was less energetic and for once I chose not to do anything about it.
In the end I realized my brand of karaoke is only appreciated my the entourage and a select few close friends. So that’s why, from now onwards, I will only karaoke with friends who karaoke the way I do. For other sessions, I will have to decline. Not fair for me to take away other people's 'fun'.

The one with the long Chinese New Year break

Happy Chinese New Year to all. Also a very long break for most of my fellow countrymen. A long weekend which began on Thursday. Well the entourage didn't make arrangements to go somewhere but still manage to hang.
Started with a bang on Thursday. Where the entourage came and rocked Red Box Plus Pavilion. The first time we rocked there as a group. However most of us got the timing off. We took the lunch package as it was reasonably priced but guess some people partied too hard the night before. Still we manage to rock the joint. Overall we loved the place, mainly to the cordless mics and sound system. With the cordless mic, there wasn't any tangled wires and spilled drinks. As for me, I really went loose.
Had lunch at Friday's which had poor service. Food was ridiculously
slow. Then we headed off to Starbucks Uptown (the new one next to HSBC) for coffee. We just chilled as well as deciding our next move. Decided to catch a movie. We were torn between Rambo and The Eye. In the end Jessica Alba won (which to me was a no-brainer, but don't know why some prefer to watch Rambo).
The rest of the break was just hanging out with the entourage. And I manage to kill some time reading at MPH One Utama and Borders The Curve. Was reading a book about the Star Wars Extended Universe. Didn't read about the Jedis, just went straight to the Siths. Read up on their history and why there is only two, the master and the apprentice. The chapter went on until Darth Vader. Didn't explain what happen after Episode 6, but you can look that up on the internet.
Also the drawback of this long weekend, I really pissed away a lot of money. On food, Starbucking as well as reading material. Don't really want to know the damage in dollars and cents.
And tomorrow is Monday. Crap.

The one with the first karaoke session of 2008 with the entourage

Well after some time, finally had a karaoke session with my beloved entourage (figure that's what we would call ourselves) after my last few sessions with different groups. It was good to rock the joint with them again. At least I know I have backup and not look stupid trying dance on my own.
Anyways the session was held to celebrate a few events. First of all Farrish-Ida's engagement, Shah-Faizah's new crib (wonder whens the housewarming?), the birthdays of Shahreza (28 Dec) and Ida (1 Jan) and also to celebrate the fact that Shahreza finally joined Facebook.
Well guess we rocked the joint again and I lost my voice in the end (a sign of a good karaoke session). Also after viewing the pictures, I realize I sweat a lot during karaoke. Guess you can say karaoke is now a form of exercise. Then again, you have to jump and dance at the same time. We belted out the usual tunes and some new ones like 1973, Potential Break-up Song and Selimut Hati. Even went Beatles-lesque for a while. Also the combo of Farrish-Shahreza-myself doing All For Love.
So that's three sessions for me in the past seven days. Think I might have to lay low for while (as if?).

The one with the 99

Actually I shorten the title since the original title was 'The one with the Heartbreak Kid, art exhibition, confirmation karaoke, ex-Affin Discount treasury gathering, sick me, Alvin & The Chipmunks and I am Legend'. Very long title and around a weeks worth of material.
So post-chemical-romanced I went to check Heartbreak Kid, very funny. Was laughing throughout the movie and being typical Ben Stiller comedy, it was worth the laughs. The movie also had an underlying message (okay, obvious message) which had me thinking (for a bit). Something for me to solve in 2008.
Got invited (last minute) to an art exhibition at the Petronas Gallery in KLCC. Think I was invited due to the fact that I was in a walking radius to KLCC and also the fact this circle of friends have not seen me in ages. Anyways small promo for the exhibition, its called 'The Independence Project' and will be in display till 10 February 2008. While you at it, check out the piece by Vincent Leong (the friend who helped me with my 5 seconds of fame). A very cleverly done piece. Anyways, the exhibition reacquainted me with some friends I haven't met in ages, including one who I cared for dearly. Anyways, didn't' expect to see her there (but glad I did) and think she was surprised (I hope in a good way) to see me there. Somehow it felt awkward and we ended up making small talk, the usual hows things/life/work? And to think at one time we could talk about anything spontaneously.
As posted earlier, I've finally got my confirmation status. And to celebrate (meaning buying the whole desk dinner) we went for karaoke. Rocking good session as this time the gloves were off and there was no holding back the rockstar. Didn't have much room though but made the most of it. Anyways good fun, and a colleague mention that my rendition of Bon Jovi's Always was well done. She mention that when I do rock numbers it works with my voice, but so much on the slow numbers. Well that was comforting to know, I was worried all this time I was making noise.
Last weekend, the ex-Affin Discount treasury department finally had their gathering at Kak Yam's place in Lavender Heights. Some sort of pot luck event, but this time I didn't have to make pasta. I was just needed to bring grapes. Since Kak Yam was preparing the main dish and Fatin was bringing the chicken. Usually I'm the first to arrive, but this time Fatin arrived before me. Kak Yam's son was at summer camp so no FIFA Street on Playstation friendly. Anyways it was nice to see everyone again. It was probably one of the best group of people one can start their career with. Very close-knit group and like my parents they also share my parents concerns and worries (not career wise).
After the gathering I drove like the wind to make it for futsal Saturday (and to think I got this far without mentioning futsal). Played a mediocre game, maybe due to all the food I ate, but still had glimpses on genius here and there. Was feeling sick after the game. Suffered diarrhea as well as puking my guts out. Didn't feel good at all the whole Sunday. Was in bed the whole day, but was up and about the next day. Which by the way I'm on leave and will be back at work on Flyday.
Went for a double feature today. Alvin and the Chipmunks and I am Legend. The Chipmunks was a fun flick, just to laugh and here them sing. Still preferred the cartoon tough. As for I am Legend, overall it was good but I felt the ending was kind of weak. Then again, it was kind of hard to come up with a stronger ending than that.
Now its time for my medication.

The one with the karaoke and futsal

Finally the entourage managed to go for a karaoke gig. A long-awaited gig, which was held in Red Box Sogo, since Red Box Pavilion is way too pricey at night. We still rocked the joint no matter where its held.
Anyways last nights session was one of those sessions with minimal facilities. We only got a small room and it came with two mics. Not a good thing when the group consists of mic-hoggers. But we still manage to make do and have fun. As for me, I spent most of the night dancing, at least some form of body movement which isn't really called dancing. Still it was a good work out jumping around doing God knows what. Post karaoke we had drinks at Uptown. Just chill and chat till everyone was half awake.
As for futsal Saturday, it was a fun game. Good numbers as well as two balanced teams. Finally manage to find my groove but still had trouble finishing. But managed some hard earn goals as well as one gifted goal (thanks for the assist Farrish). Both teams played slick sexy-futsal but my team just kept hitting the post or missing by inches. A good enjoyable game.
Oh yeah, before I forget, my brother-in-law is down with chicken pox. So now he's at his mums in Klang to avoid my little niece catching the pox (does that sound right?). And also my little niece is also unwell.
I think tonight I might sleep early, since I slept at 4am and (somehow) woke up at 6am. Really lacking of sleep.

The one with Red Box Plus, Pavillion

Finally made it to the new Red Box in town. Red Box Plus Pavilion. A grand spanking new place ready for me and my fellow rockers to rock. But today I went with my clients and colleagues and they only allowed me to join only if I BEHAVE. Mind you it wasn't easy, but I lived most of my life in the backseat so I manage to make an effort.
First of all, the place is wicked. They 40 rooms and with several room concepts like Metal, Forest, Rock and others which I have yet to explore. One of the cool parts is that each room comes with its own toilet. And with the wireless mics you wouldn't miss a song as I believe its possible to sing from the toilet (not that I've tried). The furniture is still fresh and leathery. Ready to be used as launch pads for some of my aerial assaults. For me the room gets a massive A in my book.
Food wise, hmm...what food. I didn't eat much as when I karaoke I don't really go for the food. So can't make any comments there.
The music selection is the same as the other Red Box's but they are using a different system, an upgraded version and looks similar to the system used at Neway karaoke joints. But this new system is not reliable as it crashed 4 times during our session, all when everyone was in a good flow and rhythm. So some work is needed there.
Overall despite the steep price especially for nightfall sessions its something that should be experienced. So I guess I have to make arrangements for the gang to rock this weekend. Lookout Pavilion we're coming for you.

The one where I never found any rhythm this week

Well I guess you've read Faizah's post on the karaoke last weekend in her blog. So I left out a couple of details here and there. But in my defence, it was listed under Jackson 5 and as I recall we haven't done any Micheal Jackson number since we started rocking the scene.
As for the title, well that's hows it been for the first two days. No idea why, but there never seem to find that extra gear. I still do what I'm required to do, but very lacklustre. And honestly my voice has not recovered from last weekends events. So I really sound funny to my clients.
Also last weekend I downloaded the first episode for season 7 of Smallville and first 2 episodes from Prison Break season 3. Well its nice to know that there's something to watch nowadays especially with most series have kicked off their new seasons.
For Smallville, I really expected more since they ended season 6 with a bang. Sadly they couldn't carry on the momentum going into season7. Hopefully it picks up as the season goes by, which is rumored to be the last.
As for Prison Break, well they went for reinvention this season. Same idea, but with a twist. Lets see how the season folds out as it does look promising.
And finally, I have to admit I'm not even on the Heroes bandwagon.

The one with the best karaoke session (so far)

Ever since this Facebook craze I've noticed I haven't been posting a lot of posts. Or could it be due to fasting month or has my life really hit a wall where nothing really happens. Whatever the reason, last Saturday's karaoke has been a lift out of the gloom.
Had another karaoke session with the usual entourage after our break fast at Hard Rock. And may I say that the session was one of our best performances and we really out did ourselves. Not sure how we are going to top that but I think we will find a way.
This time around besides our usual numbers, there was quite a number of new songs which added variety to the session. We even went Sean Kingston for a while. And yes we also tried another attempt at Mika's Grace Kelly. The highlight of the event was when all 7 of us got up and sang and jumping around and having fun. Bet if my office colleagues joined they will be traumatized times 7. Dealing with one of me was traumatizing enough. Imagine if they had to deal with 7.
Anyways, you can check my Facebook to see the pictures. Really saves me the time burning the pictures to a CD or emailing them.
I wonder what we will do for an encore?

The one with the farewell dinner, Izani's wedding, karaoke and bowling

Long title for this post as plenty of material this time around. Plenty to post, hopefully I'm still in the groove. As for the events, it all began on Thursday night till Saturday afternoon before my futsal Saturday session.
The farewell dinner was for Hazeriq and Melvin. Hazeriq suddenly resign on Wednesday and Melvin has completed his one month internship. As for Hazeriq's resignation, it came as a sudden surprise to everyone, but I guess he has his reasons. But for me, he rushed his decision. And he didn't consult or talk to anyone about wanting to leave the building. Anyways, all the best in your future plans.
My colleagues decided to hold a farewell for both Hazeriq and Melvin at Delicious One Utama, since both of them live within the One Utama radius. Attendees included my colleagues Marlini, Su Farn, Huzaila and Maz. We were later joined by Mr Yee and his wife Elsy. Food was good but the waitress was something else. Sweet girl and very good at her job. Working part time as she is still studying, her shifts are on Thursday and Friday. Sounds like an idea for buka puasa one Thursday or Friday.
As for Friday, double gig for me. First attend my colleague Izani's wedding at Merak Kayangan. After that, a karaoke session. One last show before the fasting month. But as I recall, we did buka puasa karaoke last year. The rockers include Shahreza, Farrish-Ida, Shah-Faizah and newbie Nadya (hopefully she was not traumatized by our performance). Well last night a lot of new songs performed including Linkin Park's What I've Done, Justin Timberlake's SexyBack and our new favourite which will be included in the "must-sing-during-karaoke-session-list" Mika's Grace Kelly. We all had fun singing, jumping and dancing to the tune. As well try to imitate his voice.
However, last nights session took an ugly twist. Lets just say there were issues and 4 of the 7 were missing most of the session. But those who remained, tried to make the best of it. Felt if we had the whole group, would have been more fun. But at least its good to know that things have worked out. For me, despite my efforts to keep the place rocking, its not the same without everyone. Hopefully our next vocal exercise session will turn out differently.
I entered a bowling tournament under my bank's sports club. Well my scores impress anyone, but I joined for fun. But bowling organized by PPKM is a whole lot fun, or maybe because I'm still relatively unknown to AM. As for my scores I hit 107-149-131. Didn't do any training prior to the tourney, so my first game was "finding-rthym-game". Began to pick up in second frame, but when it came to the third frame, the cross-lane team resorted to time wasting tactics by going MIA. Their delays really put me of my groove. And the door gift was a t-shirt. A Scouser-red t-shirt. Red really doesn't work for me.
Still made an appearance for futsal Saturday, even though I was half-an-hour late, but promised the guys I'll come as numbers were not promising. Still manage to produce one moment of inspirational genius-like magic. With the fasting month coming up, I guess my futsal sessions will take a break and be held as per need-to-play basis and subject to availability of players.
One last note, somehow I made an appearance in Off The Edge September issue. Check it out if you have time. Hehe.
