Finally I have access to the net. After being 'logged out' for the past 2 nights, its good to be back online. As for my previous post, well it was by request of an office colleague. And I watched Step Up 2 for the second time last night. Can't wait for the DVD.
So what’s new, or more like what’s the story. Well times haven't really been good as of late. Not sure whether if its due to fatigue or just bored stiff or in the words of philosopher Cobain 'life sucks.......'.
Well work for one is one thing. Not sure if you can call it reaching the crossroads but I'm at the point where I have no idea what I'm doing and I'm partially bored with what I'm doing. The only good thing is my hours which allows me to have a whole lot of free time. Maybe I want to try other products and get my name back in the market. I even thought of quitting and try to do something more fulfilling.
I had a chat with one of my strike-force futsal partner about this. For him, climbing the corporate ladder would require some backstabbing and making full use of your connections. But once you put your hand in the cookie jar, you can't get out. In my line of work, the payback is very lucrative, well back in 70s and 80s anyways. Now with the Central Bank's regulation, its not as easy as it use too. I want to do something which I'm more passionate about and really be in my element. Sadly, there isn't a market for that line of work.
Another discussion with an office colleague who partially has the same issues as me. However for him its different. He has to think about his family before making his move. How to provide the basic necessities for his wife and kids. As for me, sink or swim I'm on my own.
Futsal wise for me as late has not been good. Haven't really been my creative-inspirational-genius-self. But that’s something I can overcome in time. Just need the 'me-against-the-world' mentality to get my edge back.
Another note is my relationship with women. I don't know why as of late, when I go out with a girl, the chemistry isn't there. Not that there should be instant chemistry (which would be great and save me the trouble). Its like 'we just don't click'. There isn't really anything in common to talk about or the wavelength is totally off. I know opposites are good, even my ex-girlfriend was an opposite of me but we found some common ground somewhere. Its not like I'm asking for a girl who is a Spurs fan. Just someone I can click with.
Sometimes I feel like I'm to careful and play my cards close to my chest. Too scared to get hurt again. To scared to be betrayed/cheated/lied too again. Some say that I don't express my emotions anymore and I’m too wooden. Some say I'm too choosy, but is being careful choosy? Some even said because I treat the whole thing as a game.
Thinks that one long post today. Must be due to the 'logged out' factor.

The one where Spurs won the League Cup
At last something for Spurs fans to celebrate. Our first trophy since 1999, when Ginola roamed freely down the left flank. Sadly the team could not build from that and fell apart and went through numerous managerial changes.
Nine years since we had something to cheer about. And finally 4 months into the Ramos era we've done it. Ramos help instill a sense of self belief in performing more than ourselves. He instilled the winning mentality and the difference is for all to see especially in the final. Had the previous regime still lead the team, Spurs would have folded after going one down. But now the team never gave up and kept fighting. We our new found stamina we lasted the entire game, and the blue side from
I will spare all the details and highlights of the game. You can catch the goals here. But Spurs fans all over the globe would like to hail our goal scorers, the Count from
Even today at work I just kept going on and on about our win. Then again its not everyday Spurs fans have something to celebrate.

The one with Step Up 2
Well post karaoke, I acted like nothing happen. Move on as well as play dumb at work. Went for a double feature last night. Went for Kung Fu Dunk and the French film Paris Je T'aime. Well being a basketball fan, I thought of giving Kung Fu Dunk a try, since there isn't really a lot of basketball films. As for the French film, well it had Natalie Portman and a host of other stars playing small roles in a collection of short films.
Earlier today, I went for Step Up 2:The Streets. Have to say it was one hell of a movie. I really love the energy in the movie and the dance moves are off the hook. There are times during the movie I feel like just getting up and dance. Then again I should save myself the embarrassment due to the absence of rhythm. All the performers really did a great job in the film. To pick a favorite dance sequence would be hard. But my pick is the last dance sequence, which was done in the rain. The was sick.
One character really caught my eye was Andie West played by a 'how you doing' Briana Evigan. Guess you can say I fell in love with her during the show. Did some research on her and she was the
One last note, had a sense of deja vu today. Help send another friend to the hospital after a futsal injury. I myself don't know what to say. I believe I posted something on rough play in futsal once, and you know how I feel about the issue. As for my friend, no broken bones but suspected torn ligaments (well everyone on the court heard a 'clack') and he would require a follow up on Monday.
As for me, the next karaoke session, I probably rock it Step Up 2 style, in the company of my close friends.

The one where I walked out on a karaoke session
I bet the title kinda gave you a shock. Very unlikely of me to commit such an offence, in karaoke standards anyways. I still came back to the session in the end, but I didn't perform in my usual manner after that.
So where shall I begin. Tonight we were celebrating a colleagues confirmation status in our desk. So a karaoke session was in order. I myself was pretty much amped and ready to rock as always. I started off in my usual manner and didn't want to disappoint. After 45 minutes, a colleague made a statement which really offended me. Not sure if it was intentional or not. First of all, as you all know I can't sing. I'm more of the entertainer and showmanship is my specialty. So I figure my 'noise' and 'uncoordinated movements' offended someone. After that I gently put the mic on the table, grabbed my phone, wallet and ipod and went off to chill. Ended up at some kopitiam but with lousy wi-fi access.
I admit I have offended people with my karaoke theatrics. Some were even traumatized and didn't want to go for karaoke if I was one of the 'performers'. I know people will have a barrel of laughs watching me 'karaoke'. That’s one form of entertainment I provide. And I'm not afraid to make a fool of myself (I've been doing that since I was a kid).
To me karaoke is having fun with your friends. But for certain people, singing in the right manner, with rhythm and proper pitching and whatever crap is involved is the way to go. And they do that sitting down in a well mannered behavior. I think they are probably training to be a singer or audition for some talent show.
Anyways, when I came back, I did things their way. You take out the comical element of me, you'll get one boring karaoke session. I didn't sing as much, I cancelled all my songs that were still on the play list, because my song selections are way too different. I only sang backup to some songs and I did that sitting down. Yes, the hyperactive me karaoke sitting down. And I was no longer fun. And after that the whole session was less energetic and for once I chose not to do anything about it.
In the end I realized my brand of karaoke is only appreciated my the entourage and a select few close friends. So that’s why, from now onwards, I will only karaoke with friends who karaoke the way I do. For other sessions, I will have to decline. Not fair for me to take away other people's 'fun'.

The one with my new toy
So what did I buy? Well I bought the iPod Touch. I was influenced by Farrish. It's all his fault. He should have never let me play with it. Now I'm hooked. Honestly I've been eyeing it for some time, well iPhone actually but since that seems to take like forever, I'll save that for 2009.
Still trying the get the hang of things, but so far so good. Now I'm officially a member of SHIT, short for "Society House of IPod Techies" as Farrish would call it. Now I have something else to play with on the train besides my PSP. Now I have something to put in my pocket while I listen to my music. The PSP was in bag, and you have wires coming from my bag then.
After spending a bomb on my recent purchase, I think its time for me to fast for the next few months, since I still haven't lost those excess 20 kilos.

The one with the Jumper
Anyways, ever since I played futsal, I notice the art of celebrating goals is lost on some players. I think I'm the only player who just loves to celebrate goals. Don't know why, but its just something that kicks in once I smash the ball in the net. The most common I do these days are Robbie Keane's forward roll and Kaka's pointing to the sky. Some amazing goals do deserve some worthy post-goal-show, like taking off the shirt and twirling it around ala David Ginola. Goal celebrations is an art of expression.
Went to check out the movie Jumper today. Enjoyable movie with cool special effects. However the story could have been written in a better way. Still Rachel Bilson provided eye candy just as she does in OC. As for the Star Wars reunion. Samuel L Jackson still does what he does best, and as for that guy who played Anakin Skywalker, well he did show some improvement from his wooden performance in Star Wars.
Oh yeah, totally forgot to wish you all a Happy-Commercialized-Valentine's Day.

The one with the long Chinese New Year break
Started with a bang on Thursday. Where the entourage came and rocked Red Box Plus Pavilion. The first time we rocked there as a group. However most of us got the timing off. We took the lunch package as it was reasonably priced but guess some people partied too hard the night before. Still we manage to rock the joint. Overall we loved the place, mainly to the cordless mics and sound system. With the cordless mic, there wasn't any tangled wires and spilled drinks. As for me, I really went loose.
Had lunch at Friday's which had poor service. Food was ridiculously slow. Then we headed off to Starbucks Uptown (the new one next to HSBC) for coffee. We just chilled as well as deciding our next move. Decided to catch a movie. We were torn between Rambo and The Eye. In the end Jessica Alba won (which to me was a no-brainer, but don't know why some prefer to watch Rambo).
The rest of the break was just hanging out with the entourage. And I manage to kill some time reading at MPH One Utama and Borders The Curve. Was reading a book about the Star Wars Extended Universe. Didn't read about the Jedis, just went straight to the Siths. Read up on their history and why there is only two, the master and the apprentice. The chapter went on until Darth Vader. Didn't explain what happen after Episode 6, but you can look that up on the internet.
Also the drawback of this long weekend, I really pissed away a lot of money. On food, Starbucking as well as reading material. Don't really want to know the damage in dollars and cents.
And tomorrow is Monday. Crap.

The one with the Superbowl
Well a lot has been mention about the Patriots run for perfection. They were unbeaten this season and hopes to become the first team since the Dolphins in 1972 to have a perfect season. However they were up against the underdog Giants who loved the billing of the 'me-against-the-world' mentality. They had nothing given to them. They faced adversity after adversity but their resilience till the very last play showed in what could be used as a good example of sportsmanship. I admit I was rooting for the Patriots when the season began, but the Giants caught my eye. The one thing I learn from watching the NFL is the team who gets hot at the right time usually has great momentum come playoff time. THe Giants didn't raise any eyebrows and even started 0-2. But as the season wore on and having to deal with injuries to key players they came together and just played with a total team effort.
After the first quarter, the Patriots led 7-3. The second and third quarters were deadlocked as neither team gave an inch. The Giants defence played extremely well, shutting down the highest scoring offence in the NFL. Things openned up in the 4th. Giants quarterback Eli Manning running an efficient game and key plays by the rookies led to a Giants TD. Then Patriots came back with the Tom Brady-Wes Welker combonation with Randy Moss scoring a TD. Patriots up 14-10. Then on the last drive by the Giants, Eli lead them to another TD with a pass to Plaxico Burress. 17-14 Giants with less than a minute left. Giants defence went on a rampage and shutting down the Patriots offence once and for all.
A great win for the Giants ending the Patriots dream of perfection. And Eli managed to keep the MVP award in the family after his brother Peyton won it all last season.
Back to the local scene, I had a great weekend. Well maybe due to the fact I was away from work and the long weekend. Then a very sexy game of futsal as well as meeting some interesting new characters with one I hope would have a signaficant role to play in the future. Well thats the hope.
Alrighty then, I am due back to work tomorrow. At least its 2 days before the long Chinese New Year break.

The one where I remembered what happened on Federal Territory Day last year
FT day last year I went out with you-know-who. Not sure if you can call it first date, but more like first 'hanging-together' (to be on the safe side). We did typical stuff, movies (The Holiday) and Starbucking. I had great fun and really enjoyed the company. I even remember our 2nd outing on 15 February (yes I somehow remember these things) because I was 10 seconds too late to ask her out on (a now very commercialized) V-Day.
Guess I was really in one of those moods (I don't know thw word here). But I'm not really crying about it or anything. Another one of life's experience and lessons.
On Thursday night, All For Love singers (no not Sting, Rod Stewart and Bryan Adams, but Farrish, Shahreza and myself, in karaoke anyway) hanged and chilled at Coffee Hut. Which turned into a session where we played with Farrish's new iPod Touch. Damn its a very cool toy. And now, I'm planning to get one for myself. I know I have a PSP, but now is the age of technosexuals, the more techhy the better. But the price for the iPod Touch is steep. Retailing at RM 1400 for the 8 gig version at authorize Apple sellers. And bonus (if any) will be in June and my birthday is still a long way off. I also have my eye on the Macbook Air, but that would really cost an arm and a leg.
Guess I really want to have more toys than NASA.
