The one with the septuple

In my sixth season with Spurs on FM13, I’ve finally managed to win it all in the same season. I’ve won the septuple – 7 trophies – the Community Shield, the Euro Super Cup, the Club World Cup, the Capital One Cup, the FA Cup, the Premiership and the Champions League.
The Premiership win was my 6-peat and the closest race for the title. Spurs and Manchester United were neck-and-neck the whole season. Going into the last game, I had a  1 point lead ahead of Manchester United. To confirm the title, and to keep things simple, I had to win my last game. My last game was away against Arsenal. We won the title at the ground of our hated rivals with Harry Kane scoring the title winning goal.
The season was also the season I played Arsenal 8 times and beat them on all 8 occasions. Beat them 8-0 and 1-0 in the league, 2-1 and 2-0 in the Capital One cup semi-final, 1-0 and 3-1 in the Champions League semi-final, 7-2 in the FA cup quarter-final and 4-3 in the Euro Super cup.
The Champions League was the 4th time I played Barcelona in the final. I have a 2-1 head-to-head record against them in the Champions League final. I avenged my loss to them in the final 2 years ago by beating them 2-0. Goals scored by Isco and Gareth Bale.
My main star was Erik Lamela. In 37 appearances, he bagged in 12 goals and laid out 24 assists. He also picked 20 yellow cards. The defenders too all performed well. Seven of the top ten in average rating were defenders. Goals were scored all over the place, with 11 players scoring at least 8 goals. And 3 of those players recorded double digits in assists too. Top scorer was Harry Kane with 23.
Below are the screen shots of the record winning season.

So what left is there to achieve? For now, my aim is to keep on winning with Spurs and maybe try my hand on the international stage.

The one with Football Manager 2011

Again, one of my favourite games has come out with a new edition. Football Manager 2011, packed with a whole lot of improvements after last year's stagnant edition.
Among the features are revamped training as well as real-time conversations with players, the board and a new feature the agents (they make a lot of money from football transfers).
This time around, I will be taking over my Spurs again. Last years edition I went continental as there wasn't much improvement on gameplay.
I've just went through the pre-season, and will start my first league game later.

The one with the reason why I won't be online much these days

As most of friends know, I'm usually online most of the time. Usually my G-Talk and Facebook. But now, I will not be as active. Reason being, I'll be busy managing a football team. Leading them to glory. And what on earth am I yapping about? Well, Football Manager 2009 is out baby. The return of sleeples nights, planning tactics in my head, player management, training schedules, etc.....

Okay, time to go back to management.

The one with why I have not been blogging much as of late (and it's not because of Facebook)

I'm not sure if any of you noticed, but it seems my posts these days are a dying breed. Well you can put the blame Football Manager 2008. The game that keeps you up late at night and still have you thinking tactics when you go to sleep.
Well been actively playing FM2008 these days. Trying to lead my beloved Spurs to glory. And it safe to say I do a better job than the previous Spurs managers who probably underachieved. Been in charge for two seasons already and just started my third. My accomplishments in my first season was the League Cup and UEFA cup. Finished second in the league in my first season pipping Manyoo for second spot on the last day of the season (somehow Chelski won the title with 4 games to spare). My second season was even better than the first. Won the Premiership (won it on the last game of the season also), defended my League cup and here's a surprise the Champions League also. But honestly I had an easy draw to the finals with the big teams knocking each other out and also surprise packages going deep in the tournament. More reasons I should have applied for the Spurs managerial post when Martin Jol was sacked/resigned.
If you would excuse me, I'm off to start my third season in charge.

The one with Futsal Ramadhan

Well finally played my first futsal game since the fasting month started. Might I add it was well needed since I've been itching to run around the court like a headless chicken.
Played on Friday and Saturday night. Both late kickoffs and held after terawih. For Friday's gig I invited both Tuesday and Saturday groups as I was unsure on the numbers. And Saturday's game was with the futsal Wednesday group.
I had a break fast appointment with my clients at PJ Hilton before heading off for my 10.00pm game. The food was so-so and I don't eat as much as I use too. Maybe I had the game in mind so I was mindful of what I was eating. Found out some of my clients do play futsal or football and have expressed interest in a friendly after Eid. Hopefully something can be arranged.
As for the game, think I still need to dust off the rust. My passing was totall off and also my shooting failed me. Somehow it all worked out better in my head. Still manage a couple of lucky goals and lucky assists, but overall a fun game. Saturday's game started with a bang for me. Scored the first goal on a left foot blockbuster. But as the game wore on, my passing, dribbling, control and shooting failed me again.
As for the rest of my weekend, it was the same Madden-Facebook-sleep routine combo. Started off with a new franchise in Madden after leading the Giants to a four-peat. Now in charge of the Titans.
And tomorrow is another Monday which will drain me EMP.

The one with Madden 08 and barbecue at Rafiq's

Last weekend was me back in my element. Its the season where a lot of new games will be released soon. Games which I am a fan of. Mostly sport games and racing games. After all the RPGs and adventure games I've been playing, its back to the sports. Especially with the NFL and NBA season around the corner.
Bought Madden 08 on Flyday. Which means I get the whole weekend to play Madden. As much as I enjoy Madden, I'm still not ready to enter the Madden Challenge. Still need to get used to the playbook and also need to learn how to read plays like Peyton Manning and Tom Brady. I play on the fly, just call a pass play or running play without seeing what the defence is giving me. But think got the hang of defence, since all I know is to blitz the opposing quarterback all game long. Anyways started a franchise in the franchise mode. Took charge of the New York Giants and after 3 games I'm unbeaten. Good start.
Saturday night we had a barbecue for Wak. Small gathering of friends and a mini-bachelor party minus the strippers. The bbq was held at Rafiq's crib in Puchong (which is very far) and other carnivores included Farrish, Shahreza and Amryl. The only thing not meat was the pasta I brought and the drinks. The rest was a raptors delight. It was good to just hang with the guys and chill. Also heard the fireworks from Putrajaya, sadly we couldn't see the lights.
Other than that, it was pretty much gaming weekend for me.
