The one with a bad start to the week

Been some time since a crappy Monday post. A "great" way to start the week.
This morning my car couldn't start. So in my head I saw ringgit notes with wings flying away from me. First thing that came to mind was my car battery. But felt it was unlikely as its only one year and a bit since I last changed it. So I thought it was the starter. But still it was way too early to do anything since it was only 6.30am (yes, I leave my house at that time).
And so I went online and checked out the football results from last night. And Spurs LOST AGAIN. I for one wouldn't be surprised if we end up playing first division (or whatever they call it these days) football next season.
So with the mechanic open at ten, me and my dad went to pick up the mechanic as well as the new battery. So there goes my RM 250.00. And my boss still insists that I come to work. I took emergency half day and came in after lunch. I drove the car to work as the station parking would already be full.
Work was hectic and this was only half day. But the worse was yet to come. Its been raining cats and dogs lately. Every afternoon, it will pour. And when it pours in the city centre, we all know the outcome. Jams everywhere until every road in KL becomes a parking lot. So I decided to chill for teh tarik till the jam clears. Looking at the jam I know this is why I don't drive to work.
I guess this is going to be a loooooong week.

The one where Jalan Raja Chulan became Sungai Raja Chulan

I believe the weather we're experiencing is due to global warming. I can be scorching hot one minute and raining cats and dogs and monkeys for that matter the next. Anyways, we have been experiencing heavy rain these past few days. As a result, massive jams and flash floods in the city.
Well, there was a sight in front of my building. And sorry to say I did not take pictures. Reasons why I can't be a photographer. I never seem to capture the moment. So there it was, the road in front of my building became a river. A very Malaysian river due to the muddy colours. Some cars attempted to drive through the water only to get stuck in the middle. And some colleagues who's car were park in the basement rushed to see if their wheels were OK.
I believe this will be a familiar sight as long as these heavy downpours keep pouring. So I guess we can start doing our part by helping reduce the effects of global warming.
On another note, my futsal performance took a massive hit. My once-reliable first touch has deserted me. I can't seem to control the ball these past few games. And my passing precision is totally off. It seems that all aspects of my game has suffered. Even my off-the-ball movement is more statue-esque these days.
Final note, congratulations to Choo on the birth of your daughter.

The one with the paintball

Where to begin? Well for starters I'm falling sick again. Seems like I get sick easily these days. Then again it could be due to the Jekyll and Hyde weather we've been experiencing. That's global warming for you.
Tried my hand at paintball yesterday. It was a department thing which was a whole lot of fun. It was my first time plying paintball and when they mention pain and bruises, they weren't kidding. We played at Mudtrekker, somewhere in the middle of nowhere in Sungai Buloh. It was a natural terrain field and the rain did cause to place to be muddy.
After being briefed on the safety procedures we went on to play. I programmed myself to shoot anything that moves, since I had trouble seeing with my glasses and the face mask on (mental note to self, learn to wear contacts). Getting hit at was normal, as I was hit almost everywhere. But there was a scare, I got hit right at my Adam's apple and the hit flew my face mask off. Probably blanked out for a while. Thankfully I didn't suffer any serious injury (think I can still go karaoke if I want to). Also tried a 'Superman' moment. I tried to catch a pellet. Which was not very clever at all. All in all, had great fun.
I guess it will take a few days for the bruises to heal. But the mark on my neck really looks like a love bite mark. Not sure how the public will respond to that.
